2.5G is an improvement on the 2G network. The major difference between them is the existence of packet switching, which is used in computer networks. The major thing that 2G is focused on is to utilize circuit switching and provide voice services. The 2.5G also provides an increased data speed, which ranges from 56kbps to 115kbps.

Though there is no need for an increase in data speed while making calls or texting messages, it has provided a new set of beneficial services to the consumer. The provision of web browsing via WAP is probably the most important service that has been achieved through 2.5G. Another wonderful feature produced by the 2.5G is the ability to send videos and photos through the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

However, there is really nothing much to say about 2G. It is just a version from which 2.5G was upgraded from. It can also make calls and text messages effectively but does not have other exclusive features as the 2.5G.
