There is quite a wide difference between Mexico and New Mexico. The first difference is that Mexico is a popular and well-known country, while New Mexico is a reputed state in the United States. Nevertheless, Mexico has a higher population than in New Mexico. The landmass of the former is also more than that of the latter. New Mexico has the sixth largest population among the states in the United States. It is located in the southwestern and western parts of the United States.
