Sarcastic,” which can also be used as “sarcasm,” is from a Greek word “sarcomas”, the word means “to sneer” while the word “facetious” did from the word “facetus,” it is a Latin word, which means “witty.” When sarcastic remarks are used, they infer mockery and irony while, on the other hand, when facetious remarks are used, it infers humor and wit.

Hurt is the goal behind the use of sarcastic remarks, while facetious remarks have the goal of amusing people. Facetious remarks can actually and is usually taken lightly, and there is nothing too serious about it, while sarcastic remarks are usually sharp and very bitter.

In the use of sarcastic remarks, the person to whom the mark is aimed at is being taunted with the direct opposite of the truth. While in the use of facetious remarks, playfulness and jest are usually used to convey or pass the message.
