Visa and Discover are both credit cards that have been accepted worldwide. Visa is the most accepted credit card in the world, while Discover is not quite as common. Discover credit cards came out in 1985. The company, Sears, issued these particular cards for the first time. The Discover card went through a few changes before 2007 when Discover financial services were brought out in an independent firm. Visa cards go back from 1958.

Back then, it was called the Bank of America. Visa was an integral part of Bank America until 1970. After this, Visa evolved to become an independent firm. It was at this time; it adopted its new name, Visa. Various other banks and financial services began to issue the cards with their brand logo. Visa is more accessible and more widely used than Discover. However, discover cards possess a more generous cashback program.
