ADD stands for attention deficit disorder. ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactive disorder. As of recent times, ADHD is classified as a psychiatric disorder. It is a cognitive disability that could need treatment. ADHD is the same, but it involves the inability to control movement. This diagnosis is common in young males seven years of age or younger.

There is double the chance for men to be afflicted than females. Common symptoms of ADD include being easily distracted, experiencing forgetfulness, quickly switching from one thing to the next, and difficulty focusing on performing one task. The symptoms of ADHD are very similar with a few key differences.

These include fidgeting and squirming in their seats, continually talking without a pause, touching or playing with everything in sight, having trouble sitting still, and being always in motion.
