Both smartwatches and fitness trackers fall into the category of wearable tech. Smartwatches are portable computerized devices, which fit on the person's wrist. One of the best advantages of a smartwatch is that it records your heart rate and other relevant information. The software may include personal organizers, calculators, digital maps, and different kinds of watch faces. Smartwatches can perform many of the same tasks comparable to a smartphone.

It can connect you with social media, email, and you can even use it for texting. On the other hand, the fitness tracker is utilized only for specific purposes, such as counting how many steps you are taking during the day. It is also worn on your wrist or other places on the body. It may also monitor running distance, sleep patterns, calorie count, and heart rate. In this sense, it is like a smartwatch, but it does more than just showing the time.

You may be wondering why smartwatches and fitness trackers are considered to be different things when they somewhat have the same function. Do remember that smartwatches are used for communication while fitness trackers are used in order to track your progress in fitness.

Smartwatches will allow you to see the different messages that you have received and see if there are some important messages that you need to view. Some even say that they do not need anything else anymore when they have smartwatches. Those who use fitness trackers would just like to keep track of the various things that they have done so far.
