There are some invertebrates that will have the ability to prey on vertebrates. A lot of people assume that only vertebrates hunt on invertebrates, but actually, there are some spiders and even some centipedes that are considered to be invertebrates that will hunt on other animals that are usually larger. Spiders do not usually kill vertebrates.
Rather, they do a scavenger hunt of vertebrates that they can eat. A prime example of a vertebrate that the spider prays on is the mouse. There are also some spiders that are proven to have the ability to eat snakes. Do you know that there are also some dragonflies that will have the ability to eat frogs? They will know the parts of the frog that are considered to be more vulnerable.
Most of the time, it is the other way around, vertebrates are considered to be more advanced as compared to invertebrates. This means that they will have more capabilities to hunt for invertebrates. This explains why the different vertebrates that may be found in the ocean will eat invertebrates easily. Still, there are some invertebrates that will have the ability to prey over larger animals.
The spider is one prime example. The spider is considered to be an invertebrate, but it will have the ability to kill other vertebrates because of its venom, including humans. There are also some spiders who will have the strength to carry mice. Just imagine their strength even when they do not have a backbone.
