Epilepsy is an occurring neurological disorder wherein the person who has this often experiences a seizure. Hysteria, on the other hand, is usually experiencing fear related to a particular body part in an imaginative state of mind. Epilepsy is more on the physical aspect while hysteria is more on the mental state where a person shows an unimaginable fear that results in a hyper reaction.

Epilepsy usually occurs when the neurons in the brain are highly activated. Hysteria could be an effect of multiple incidents or situations in a person’s past which has compromises in severe conflicts. In conclusion, epilepsy is caused by an abnormality in the brain and hysteria is a result of abnormal fears or fantasies.
