Nephrostomy is a medical technique that is performed to establish a pathway between the kidneys and the skin. The nephrostomy tube is placed through the skin into the back of the kidneys. In urostomy, on the contrary, a passage is created between the bladder and the abdominal wall's skin. The purpose of nephrostomy is to immediately redirect urine from the kidneys to the opening in back of the body through a skin opening.

Nephrostomy is done to undo blockage that prevents urine from passing, and there is a chance of ultimately causing damage to the kidneys. On the other hand, urostomy involves guiding the urine from the bladder through an abdominal wall opening. Urostomy is typically performed in a person whose urine drainage from the urethra or bladder is not possible.

Nephrostomy and Urostomy are two procedures that are done to be able to help a person who is suffering a disease in the urinary system. Nephrostomy is a procedure that links the kidney to the skin at the back of the body. This is done to people when there is no way that they can expel urine through natural means. Urostomy, on the other hand, is a procedure wherein the doctor creates a different passageway for the urine to flow from the bladder and the skin of the abdominal wall. It is said that Urostomy is still a more natural way of dispelling urine since the urine still goes through the urethra and not the skin.

Nephrostomy is a procedure that is done to create a passage between the kidneys and the skin artificially. The nephrostomy conduit is put through the skin of the back into the kidneys. In urostomy, an artificial pathway is formed between the bladder and the skin of the abdominal wall.

Urostomy is frequently performed in case a person cannot expel urine from the urethra or bladder. It is typically suggested when the urinary bladder has been eliminated. Bladder cancer, incontinence of urine, or any injuries to urinary organs triggering retention of urine might need a urostomy to expedite the flow of urine.

Nephrostomy is performed when there is hindrance to the urine flow urine from kidneys to the bladder through the ureters. In contrast, urostomy is performed when urine flow is not possible through any natural means.

There are a lot of people who know just how important their different body organs are. Sometimes, when a part of the body does not work that well, it can cause some issues in the long run.

Nephrostomy is the procedure that is done when the urine cannot come out because it is obstructed. This means that the kidneys are not functioning well enough to make the urine come out of the bladder.

Urostomy, on the other hand, is a type of procedure that would need to be done so that the urine will be able to flow through the bladder and the urethra easily. Take note that you need to know the difference between the two so that the right alternative can be chosen.

The urinary system is important because it helps filter out fluids from our body. The system includes many parts, such as the bladder and kidney. There are times where the urinary system may have issues that need to be resolved so that it can function properly again. A nephrostomy is done whenever the flow of urine is obstructed. This obstruction occurs by the kidneys into the bladder. Urostomy is another procedure performed when the flow of urine is now able to go through the bladder and urethra. One of the main differences between them is the part of the urinary system in which the procedure involves. Nephrostomy is a procedure done on the kidneys. The urostomy is done with the bladder.
