Pity is known to be sympathy or a feeling that people feel towards another person or another living being. Pity is usually felt when the person knows that another person or living thing is suffering because of the present circumstances that the person or living thing is going through.

Compassion is also an emotion that people may feel towards something or someone, but this time, this is also a virtue. Feeling compassion means that the person will not stop in just feeling sorry for someone. The person will go out of his way to provide the help that the person or living thing currently needs at this point.
