This is a subordinate clause. In particular, the phrase “as long as we continue to see progress” is subordinate in this sentence. That’s because it cannot stand on its own. The first part of the sentence could stand on its own: you can keep your privileges. This implies that someone has done something that could get them taken away, but the person who decides that is not going to do so.

The best way to figure out if a clause is subordinate or independent is to see if it makes sense on its own. This test stands the test of time. If you can find a phrase that stands by itself and makes sense, it’s independent. If not, it’s dependent, or subordinate.
