The unweighted GPA is taken to the measurement from 0 to 4.0. A student from a lower-level class, AP class or an honors class can earn a grade of 4.0 or A. Whatever the difficulty of the course, it will not be accountable to the student's grade. Weighted GPA on the other hand, is used by high schools to better show a student’s accomplishments in his or her academics.

The unweighted GPA is taken to the measurement from 0 to 4.0. A student from a lower-level class,
The grade will now range from 0 to 5.0 and takes into the difficulty of the course that will be the basis of the student’s grade. If a student got an A in the lower level class this can be translated as 3.0 as his or her weighted GPA but a student from an honors class who got an A has a weighted GPA of 4.5 or above.
