Maritime trade can best be described as a trade that takes place by using ships to transport goods to another place across waters. These ships may travel across oceans including the Pacific Ocean. Cargo ships are known for traveling across the oceans to transport products from one country or continent to another country in another continent that is far away.

Sometimes, these ships or companies that send the products must pay taxes since they are being brought into another country. Maritime trade has been going on for years even during ancient history. Merchants were always wanting to trade their goods with others who didn’t have access to the goods that they sold. Then other things spread like religion and disease since the merchants were traveling to different parts of the world.
