Alpine glacier is a type of glacier. Alpine glacier is a glacier formed among summits and descending through a valley. Alpine glaciers occur throughout the world in mountainous regions of high elevations where there is sufficient temperate below freezing for much of the year and precipitation.

Alpine glaciers grow on mountains and flow through valleys. They begin high up in a mountain in bowl shaped Hallows called CIRQUE. As it grows, the ice slowly flows out of cirque and into the a valley. Many cirque can join together to form a single valley glacier.
