The correct answer to this question is Niccolo Machiavelli. Born in 1469, Niccolo Machiavelli was a man with many talents. His resume included being a poet, playwriter, politician, philosopher, and humanist. He is known as the father of modern political science. His best-known work The Prince was released five years after his death.

In this treatise, he described behavior that was deemed immoral and made it seem reasonable and useful in politics. Machiavelli's work influenced the political realism movement and philosophers such as Hobbes, John Adams, and Rousseau. Though his influence was significant, his name was deemed as a negative term due to some of his beliefs.
