Almost all dogs have wet noses and some dog noses can be really wet and some can be almost dry. It’s important to know how wet or dry your dog’s nose is normally so that you will know when he/she may be getting sick.

The primary reason for a dog’s wet nose is that it helps the dog to maintain a safe and healthy body temperature and cool down. Dogs do not have normal sweat glands so they “sweat” by releasing body heat in the form of moisture through their nose and foot pads.
