Burgundy is a wine made in Burgundy which is a region in Eastern France. Burgundy has primary wine-growing areas which include Chablis, Cote de Beaune, Cote Chalonnaise and Maconnais.

They are known to produce the finest and most expensive wine in the world. Majority of the red wine in Burgundy is Pinot Noir. Red wine can also be made from Gamay. Burgundy wine classification includes:

1. 1%Grand Cru: wine with this classification have the highest price
2. 10% Premier Cru: This wine is produced from vine guard and considered to be of great quality.
3. 37% village wines these wines are from village or commune of burgundy.
4. 52%regional wines: They are regarded as the wine with the lowest classification.

Medium bodied wines made from Pinot Noir

Burgundy lies in eastern France along the Soane river. It is the worlds most famous region for exceptional red wines made from Pinot Noir.
