Goodness, you had better not ask a Greenlander that!! Yes, indeed it is a country and has much to recommend it in scenery, natural features, having the lowest population density.
It is the world's largest island and although autonomous, does come within the kingdom of Denmark so is a dependent territory with limited self-government and its own parliament. Greenland's capital, Nuuk, is the smallest in the world.

No, Greenland is not a country. It also isn’t a continent although on a map it looks big enough to be one. Greenland is the largest island in the world and the least populated place on earth. It is considered “a self-governing overseas administrative division of Denmark with a multi-party system". The Danes first began to colonize the island in the 18th century.
It was make a part of Denmark in 1953 and twenty-six years later, the Danish government granted Greenland self-government. When Denmark joined the European Union, Greenland did too but then they withdrew over a disagreement over stringent fishing quotas.
