Cassie was the one hit wonder who performed the song Me & U, released in 2006 on the R&B album Cassie. It was the lead single on that album, and was written and produced by Ryan Leslie. It was in the top forty of the US Billboard Hot 100 for nearly five months, and peaked at number three.
Cassie's performance on this song was compared to Janet Jackson, and it was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and gold by the British Phonographic Industry. Cassie also performed in a music video directed by Norwegian-born director Ray Kay.
