Janet Jackson played the main character, Justice, in the 1993 film Poetic Justice. In the movie, Justice received her name from her mother who had her while she was in law school. She lives in Los Angeles and works at a hair salon but also writes poetry.
Tupac Shakur also starred in the movie as Lucky, a young postal clerk, who ends up winning Justice's heart. The song Again from the soundtrack, performed by Jackson, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. The movie received nominations for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the song Again.
