The trumpet is a traditional instrument like a horn, made out of brass. The brass metal makes it sound resonant and gives it its specific character. Trombone is another instrument that belongs to the horn family. It is also made out of the brass that adds to its specific quality notes thanks to the vibrating air column in its long tube.
