The plague was a disease that was highly contagious that affected Europe during different times. However, the most prominent time when the Bubonic plague hit and did the most damage was during the Middle Ages. It was referred to as Black Death. During these 60 years, people in Europe were frightened of this disease. It was wiping out families instantly. The most common cause of the spread of the Bubonic plague was due to trade.
Trade during this time had just started and merchants were traveling to different parts of the world in order to trade their items. With them, they or rats would carry the disease and spread it to wherever they landed. When the plague was over almost 1/3 of the population had died.
