Is it true or false that the aftermath of WWII led directly to the collapse of Imperialism and the self-determination of former colonies?

It could be said this was more true AFTER WWI, certainly it was begun with the aftermath of WWI. It could be said it was finished after the end of WWII.

Soviet imperialism was immediate and encompassed Eastern Europe, the Baltic, and Manchuria. India gained its independence in 1948 (3 years) after the war and primarily the result of the financial bankruptcy of the UK. France continued to recover its colonies in Indochina for years; ultimately leading to the Vietnam War. WW2 hardly accounted for the destruction of imperialism, but gave new life to it through the Soviet Union.

True

India was granted independence shortly after WWII from the British Empire, and numerous nations were granted self determination.
