How to back up your Google Data
Before you delete your account, download and save your data before you do anything else. Go to the Google takeout website and sign in to your account. You will be asked which services you want to save and you might as well choose all of them. Or by selecting Data Liberation on the left side of the screen that comes up. It's good to keep a backup of all your documents and information and other data you have stored on Google servers just in case you might need it in the future.
How to Permanently Delete Your Google Account-
Now to get the work done, which you came for. Deleting a Google account is easier than actually getting one.
- Go to Account settings then click Account Overview on the menu on the left.
- Select Delete your account or services under account preferences.
- Click on Delete Products.
- Select the Gmail account you want to delete.
- Type the password of the account you want to delete.
- Click next and click on the trashcan icon next to Gmail.
- Enter an email address different from the address associated with the Gmail account you are closing under entering an email address in the How you'll sign in to Google dialog box.
- Click on Send Verification Email.
- Open the email from Google with the subject ''Security alert for your linked Google account'' or ''Gmail Deletion Confirmation''.
- Follow the link and confirm.
- Then click on Delete Gmail.
Don't forget to take a backup of your emails or data before you take the step of deleting your Google account. Once you delete your Google account, anybody who sends you mail on the deleted account will receive back a delivery failure message. You might want to share your new or alternate address to the contacts you might want to contact.
