The food and drinks consumed during Bible times were quite different than what we consume today. However, you will see that a lot of the same basic foods that are still around today were eaten during this time as well. Things like grains, corn, oats, rice, seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame), soybeans, peas, fruits, nuts, and vegetables were consumed by people living in the Bible days.

Meats that were consumed included things like cow, lamb, deer, goat, chicken, and turkey. Pork was not a permitted meat. One thing quite different than most Western cultures of today was the consumption of insects including locusts, crickets, and grasshoppers.
