New York is one of the most expensive places to live in the United States. While places like Rexburg, Idaho may charge only $1 for a dozen eggs, people in New York are charged about $3.10 for a dozen eggs. That’s about three times more than in rural areas. Part of the reason New York City is so expensive is because it’s overcrowded.
Another reason it’s so expensive is because there’s no room for gardens and things, so everything has to be imported. That raises the price. Even a decent meal here is more expensive: $75 in New York City, compared to $30 or $35 in a less crowded city. It just goes to show that if you want to live the life of glamour in NYC, you have to be prepared to pay for it.
