Beowulf shows reputation because he went to king hrothgar king of the danes and told him he would kill grendel. beowulf is successful in defeating grendel where he is praised for his heroism. if beowulf didnt defeat grendel he would not have kept his word and would be known as a person who couldnt finsh a challenge he made for himself. then people would not have respect or honor for him making a bad reputaion for him.beowulf shows vengeance when grendels mother comes and kills king hothgars adviser. beowulf and his company go to the mothers lair where he kills her for killing the adviser. this represents vengeance because the mother killed the adviser out of vengeance of her son and was subsequently killed for the killing of the adviser by beowulf.fate is also represented because beowulf sensed his death was near and still decided to fight the dragon
