Jorn Utzon is an architect from Denmark. His most popular contribution to architecture is the design of the Sydney Opera House. Utzon entered a contest and won it. So, that is how he got to design this famous structure. In order to win this competition, Utzon had to compete against over 200 other designs. Most of Utzon’s other works are in his native country.

The judges were amazed by his design and knew that this was the one that should win after viewing his design. The Sydney Opera House is constructed with several shells that resemble those of sharks. This opera house is located on the coast. However, according to Utzon, his thoughts for his concept came from peeling fruit and not with the ocean necessarily.
