The full name for a stink bug is the brown marmorated stink bug. It is found primarily in China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. However, it seems that the bug can be found throughout the world because many people believe they see a stink bug all the time.
As a matter of fact, they have now come to the other continents except Australia and Antarctica. The stink bug can be found on vegetable crops and they will damage them. That is why farmers hate the stink bug.
The stink bug can be gray, dark white, black, copper or other colors. They are also called shieldbugs, but many people call and know them as the stink bug. Never step on a stink bug because they secrete a smell that is not pleasant.
A sheildbug is also known as a stinkbug. These bugs have their stink glands behind their first pair of legs and in front of their second pair of legs. This gland when activated can release a stinky liquid. Like a skunk, this is used to ward off attacking animals or when the bug is simply afraid or startled. These bugs have several antennae. The shieldbugs have over 150 different types of species around the world.
The largest group of this classification of bugs is the stink bugs with over 4,000 different types of species. The thorax on the shieldbugs and stinkbugs may have a triangular shape on their bodies. This shape travels down the body of the bug and even over their abdomen.
