When someone wants facts or a list of information, they may consult an almanac. Almanacs are books that were written with a variety of different topics. Each topic includes information that is presented usually in a list or chart. Some almanacs are written for children in mind and others are written pertaining to weather and farming.

In an almanac, the index is found in the front which is different from other sources where the index is typically located in the back. Almanacs are considered a reference book in the library. These reference books can’t be checked out of the library. They can only be used in the library. However, almanacs can be bought in bookstores. People use almanacs when they want to look up facts.
