The correct answer to this question is The equator. The image provided shows a globe. The split into two is the equator. The top is the Northern Hemisphere and the bottom is the Southern Hemisphere. The equator is not just something that the planet Earth has.

All planets have an equator, as well as the Sun. The location of the equator is 0 degrees latitude. Equators are imaginary lines. In regards to the equator on Earth, there are 13 countries that are located directly on the Equator. Another fact is that Earth happens to be the widest at the equator.

The line that separates the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is the equator. In other words, the equator can be defined as an imaginary line where the southern and northern hemispheres meet. The equator is not just a geographical term that can be explained by using only the planet earth, other planets have their own equator, in fact, and the sun has its own.

Once an astronomical object is rotating on an axis, it will definitely have what is known as an equator. The Equator is always at latitude zero degrees. Option A which is the Prime meridian is actually referring to a line that divides the planet earth into the western and eastern hemisphere. Option C, which is the line of longitude, is an imaginary line on the earth's surface that extends from the North Pole to the South Pole, and it usually forms right angles with the equator.

The Equator.

The equator is the line that separates the globe into the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The equator is located at 0 degrees latitude. The equator is actually an imaginary line in the middle of a celestial body. Also, the Earth is widest at the equator. It is also important to know that some countries are located on the equator of the Earth. There are 13 countries in total.

These countries are Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Kenya, Somalia, Ecuador, Brazil, Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Indonesia, Kiribati, and the Maldives. The Northern hemisphere contains most parts of Asia, North America, Europe, the Northern part of South America, and the Northern 2/3rd of Africa. The Southern hemisphere contains 1/3rd of Africa, Australia, Antarctica, most parts of South America, and some Asian Islands.

The line which separates the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is the Equator. The Northern hemisphere contains North America, the northern part of South America, most part of Asia, Europe, and the northern two thirds of Africa, while the Southern hemisphere contains the remaining parts of South America, Antarctica, Australia, a third of Africa, and the majority of Asia. Some people would often mistake the Prime Meridian as the correct answer, but they are wrong.

Yes, it is true that the Prime Meridian divides the Earth into two parts. However, Prime Meridian divides Earth into Eastern hemisphere which contains half of Antarctica, Asia, Australia, the majority of Africa and the majority of Europe, and Western hemisphere which contains North America, South America and the other half of Antarctica.
