Some of the local effects of climate change in developing countries involve water, agriculture, health, and coastal zone change. We can now feel climate change because global temperature has been increasing, glaciers have been receding and greenhouse effect has been rising tremendously. If climate change continues, there can be drought and water shortage in Africa, Asia and Latin America, to name a few. It will also greatly impact food production – without enough water, it will make planting and cultivating crops extremely difficult.

It can also cause floods and salt water intrusion which will destroy the means of food production. In terms of health, certain diseases will attack the immune system of people living in developing countries – everybody will be at risk for malaria due to warmer temperatures, cholera due to water shortage and air pollution will be rampant due to frequent wildfires. Coastal zones will also be affected because sea level will rise due to the continuous melting of glaciers and coral reefs will be destroyed.
