Electricity costs money. Probably when you were little, you didn’t realize this. Instead, if you got cold, you simply turned the thermostat up to a higher degree of heat.

However, the increase in electricity makes the bill higher. Your parents then had to pay more money for that electricity that was used. Sometimes, the parents may tell you not to touch the thermostat. Also, there are ways to determine how much your electricity costs per year by using a formula and the information that you have.

This includes how much the cost of kWh is. There may be the power loss and resistance. Therefore, if there are 12 AWG circuit conductor with a total resistance of 0.40 ohms and current flow of 16A, the cost per year would be thirty dollars.

$30

Cost per Year= Power for the Year in kWh x $0.08 Power per Hour = I2 x R I= 16A R=0.40ohms Power per Hour = (16A x 16A) x 0.40 ohms Power per Hour = 102.4W Power for the Year in kWh = (102.4W x 24 hours x 365 days)/1,000 Power for the Year in kWh = 897 kWh Cost per Year= 897 kWh x $0.08 Cost per Year= $71.76
