What is the relationship between period and frequency?

Reciprocal is the answer to this question. Frequency and period are considered to be inverse of each other. They may have some opposites, for example, the frequency can be measured in seconds per cycle while the period is measured per cycle in seconds. These two usually go together though.

This means that those with higher frequencies will have shorter wavelengths while those with lower frequencies will also have longer wavelengths. They will have an effect on each other but the reactions will always be opposite with each other. Take note that even if they are distinctly different, there are also some qualities that are similar to each other.
