The correct answer to this question is They increase the risk of allergies in children. Genetically modified organisms are commonly known as GMOs. Through genetic engineering, they are manipulated artificially. It is not known if GMOs are safe or not. Most countries in the world are required to label products with GMO.

Though this policy is not in the United States yet, by 2022, all products should be labeled. Despite the growing curiosity to know which products have genetically modified organisms, one will see labels that say "No-GMO's" on products that don't include it. Many foods we consume daily have GMOs, including sugar and oil.
