A standard change can be considered as a service or an infrastructure. The standard change has an accepted and a procedure that is established enough to give a specific change requirement. There are various elements of standard change. These elements include a defined trigger to initiate the request for change.

The risk is also usually very low, and the authority is also given in advance, and the activities/tasks are also well known in standard changes. They are also documented and proven. Standard changes are also referred to as pre-authorized.
