The soul is the entity we all have inside us, and some souls are good, and some souls are bad. This disparity is why religion, namely Christianity, decrees that good souls go to heaven to be with God, and bad souls end up in hell. The soul pertains to the individual.

It is the reveal of the person’s emotions and character; however, the term “evil spirit” often comes up. This term is something that is most associated with dead people or ghosts. The soul, on the other hand, is the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, and it is thought to be immortal. The soul cannot perish, but the body can. This belief is why the soul is considered to be a compelling force and part of the person.

It has a more religious meaning, because it is apart of a person's individuality. A person's spirit is their life force after death, which is used in a supernatural since. As it is apart of a supernatural reality, it is not as often used in the religious sense. A soul is seen as coming directly from God, while a soul is what the individual makes it.
