Crickets and grasshoppers are both insects. Crickets are famous for the chirping noises they make, and some people believe that this brings good luck. They are also well known because of Jiminy Cricket from the Disney movie, Pinocchio. Crickets only come out during the night, which makes them nocturnal.

When there are a bunch of crickets together, they can sound boisterous. Grasshoppers, on the other hand, are also called short-horned grasshoppers. The reason for this is because their antennae are short when compared to their bodies. They are also green in color, and there is even a green alcoholic namesake drink made with crème de mint.

Grasshoppers have pinchers that they use to eat their food. The feeding habits of grasshoppers are different from crickets. Grasshoppers are herbivores, crickets are predatory in nature, and they are omnivorous.
