Caviar blue and black are high performing drivers that come from Western Digital. When comparing caviar blue and black, black has a higher performance. However, the caviar black comes with more noise and expends more power. The WD caviar blue maintains a perfect balance of sound, performance, and power expenditure.

The WD caviar black comes with SATA 3 3Gb/s interface. The WD caviar blue comes with SATA 6Gb/s, SATA 3Gb/s, and PATA 100 MB/s. An Additional difference that can be observed is that WD black has 500 GB/2TB. Power, while blue, has an 80GB/1TB capacity. The black allegedly comes with a top performance of 7200 RPM.

While the WD black has a cache size of 64MB, the blue has a 32 cache as the black comes with a dual actuator technology. The black consists of a motor shaft that is held at both ends to decrease vibration and for precise tracking. Black is appropriate for video editing, photo editing, and multimedia.

A hard drive is what keeps a computer going, for it holds the necessary memory and storage for the computer to operate. Two hardware drivers that have been released over time are Caviar Blue and Black. They were both released through Western Driver. Between the two, the Black has a higher performance.

The downside of this higher performance is that it uses up more power and has more noise. Blue has a balance of all three of those features. Another difference between the two is related to capacity. Black has much more capacity with 500 GB/2TB, while Blue has 80 GB/1 TB

One of the ways to differentiate between WD Caviar Blue and Black is by checking their performance. Although both are high-performance gadgets, WD Caviar Black has higher performance. However, one of the advantages of WD Caviar Blue over Caviar Black is that it doesn't consume more power, and it doesn't produce more noise like Caviar Black.

WD Caviar Black supports SATA 6 GB/s interface as well as SATA 3 GB/s interface. In contrast, WD Caviar Blue supports PATA 100 MB/s, SATA 3 GB/s, and SATA 6 GB/s interface. In terms of capacity, Caviar Black comes with 500 GB/2TB while Caviar Blue comes with 80 GB/1 TB capacity.

This means WD Caviar Black has more capacity than Caviar Blue. One of the things that are responsible for the higher performance of WD Caviar Black is because it comes with 64MB cache, and this is a little bit higher than the 32MB cache in Caviar Blue.
