As it is well known, especially if you are a web designer, that HTML is a coding language that is used in developing online scripts, and its full meaning is HyperText Markup Language. Now, HTML 5 happens to be the 5th revision of HTML. Conversely, XHTML, which stands for Extensible HyperText Language, is also used in developing web pages, and it serves as a hybrid that creates the gap between XML and HTML 5.

XHTML actually helps to make your contents to be displayed on different devices in a flexible manner on the net. Another major difference between HTML 5 and XHTML is that they make use of different markup representation. The XHTML actually looks similar to the previous version of HTML (HTML 4), while HTML 5 is just different entirely from them. HTML 5 is also considered to be less strict in the writing of your code language when compared to XHTML.
