LED is the abbreviation for Light Emitting Diode, which refers to a small and efficient light source that emits light when an electric current is passed through it. QLED is the abbreviation for Quantum Dots Light Emitting Diode, which is the future or next generation of television displays marketed and distributed by Samsung to better describe their newest and advanced LED Televisions.

LED TVs are like LCV TVs that incorporate light-emitting diodes to backlight display instead of the normal standard cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) used in most of the LCD televisions. In technical terms, LED refers to a small and very efficient light source that emits light when an electric current runs through it.

QLED Televisions, as the name suggests, uses the quantum dot technology in the emission of light, which means it adds an extra layer of some tiny particles in front of a regular LED backlight panel, which usually results in greater color accuracy and more pure, saturated colors.

A lot of people seem to be very confused about the difference between QLED and LED television because they seem to be similar to each other. QLED stands for Quantum dot Light Emitting Diode. They are still similar to LED television, but the main difference is that there is a layer of LED available behind the pixels that will make sure that the right picture is available.

The main difference is that they can make use of quantum dots to ensure that the colors that you will see while you are watching television are far more accurate as compared to the colors that you will see while you are watching with your LED television.
