Shellac and gel are the most utilized nail enhancements in the beauty industry. They are alike in many ways, but there are some distinct differences between the two. Shellac is a thin nail polish, while the gel is a thick gel and polish. Shellac is known as an invention of Creative Nail Design, and it is often referred to as CND Shellac.

Between each coat that is applied, the polish is cured with UV light. It takes less time to apply and remove the Shellac, and it perpetuates the health of the nail and keeps them strong. The gel is a natural nail overlay used to provide nails with a strong and improved look.

The gel is applied by toughening up the nail. It is very thick, and it may last for approximately three weeks before it chips away to be restored. The gel goes on weaker or damaged nails much better because of it’s durable coat. Gel tends to protect the nails more than Shellac.
