Water and Alcohol are both liquid substances, but they are not the same. Chemically speaking, water is a compound that has oxygen and hydrogen as its constituents. The chemical formula for water is H20. A greater percentage of the total earth's surface is covered with water. On the other hand, alcohol is an organic compound that has OH (Hydroxyl) as its functional group. It is usually a combination of the hydroxyl group and an alkyl group.

For example, the chemical formula for ethanol is C2H5OH. Unlike water that exists in three different states i.e., liquid, solid, and gaseous state, alcohol can only exist as a liquid. Water is part of our composition as human beings, and we take a particular amount of it on a daily basis. Although alcohol can be consumed too, it is only a matter of choice, while the same thing cannot be said for water as we have been created to depend on water.
