Global Entry and SENTRI are very similar to each other which explains why there are some people who may think that these are the same. These are two different travel programs that are meant to cater to different people. Global Entry is considered to be more exclusive as this is only available to people who are from the US and a few, select a number of countries.

SENTRI is available to almost every country which means that almost everyone can apply to get this type of travel program. When it comes to costs, Global Entry is the cheaper option. It is more than $20 cheaper as compared to SENTRI. The requirements in Global Entry are also stricter as compared to the requirements of SENTRI.

Global Entry and SENTRI are two different kinds of travel programs that serve different purposes. Global Entry is a program of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection that allows low-risk travelers and pre-approved travelers’ access expedite clearance on reaching the United States. Not everyone can get the Global Entry travel program as this is limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents and citizens of about six other countries.

The Global Entry program costs a total of $100 and it is valid for a period of 5 years. The Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) on the other hand is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved when they get to the United States. Participants of SENTRI can enter the U.S. by using lanes dedicated for this purpose. As long as you are admissible to the United States, or a citizen of any country that approved to apply for this program, you can enroll for SENTRI. For five years of membership, the SENTRI program costs a total of $122.25, which is $22.5 more than the Global Entry travel program.
