India is known to be one of the countries in the world that come with a very diverse culture. They have a lot of beliefs that may be new to people from other parts of the world but they do take their culture and traditions very seriously.

There are a lot of people who place their Ganesh idols on the river and while this may have been okay in the beginning, some studies show that the immersion the Ganesh idols have already affected the water quality of the river and other bodies of water. The paint used to create the idols are toxic and has also affected marine life. The water is not safe to drink anymore.
