Cream and whipping cream have a lot of similarities especially when you look at what ingredients make up the two things. They are also similarly made. However, there is a key difference between the cream and whipping cream. First, their consistency is one of the main things. The cream is much more fluid. It is liquid. Whipping cream is thicker. Second, they are both used in different ways.

Whipping cream is used in cooking to thicken and make things creamy. The cream may sometimes be used in cooking, but it is rarely used in cooking. The cream is mostly used to stir into a drink like coffee. If you have ever been to a restaurant and ordered coffee, usually the server will ask if you want cream with your coffee.
