What would you see while spell checking the phrase "My father was write"?

You would have to use ABC spell check and/or grammar check to realize there is an error on the spelling of the word "write". In this instance, "write" should be spelled "right".

Your toolbar has been unchecked under the View/Toolbars menu.

No error will be given. Because MS word checks only words for spelling. It does not check the meaning of a line. Since the word "write" is gramatically correct, it will not give any error.

You could also have No Errors as you may have turned the do not check spelling or grammar on. No other options exist in Microsoft Word.
