Web trends can be determined from the web analytics. Usually, web analytic tools are used within a website and only the owner of the website would have any need to use that information. However, web analytics also allow for individual level tracking, real-time analytics, on the fly segmentation, funnel analysis, to name a few. However, certain trends on the web can be determined by the leaders of the internet using the information that they acquire based on many of the websites that are on the internet.

They gather this information and then are able to figure out the trends that are occurring throughout many of the websites and the activity that is going on in the internet. When individuals find out about the trends, they can adjust their website accordingly.
