Sri Lanka has some dishes that are different from the cuisine of other countries in that they put their own personal spin on them. The majority of the food Sri Lankans eat is based in Sinhalese (mostly Buddhist,. The Tamils are mostly of Hindus culture. They are more in the north but they still eat basically the same food, just with different spices on them.

They spice their curries differently too. The main staples are bilied chicken, lamb, boiled or steamed rice, and mutton. Curries are very popular. Pickled fruits are often served too and vegetables and lentils. The dishes are very healthy for the most part.
