This is the picture: the 10.25% sales tax rate in Chicago consists of 6.25% Illinois state sales tax, 1.75% Cook County sales tax, 1.25% Chicago tax and 1.00% Special tax. If you're a resident of Chicago or work there, you must include all of these for use while preparing your income tax deduction.
